The Founder's Story
The dream that became a reality.
I saw a bright light and thought I had died — but instead, a pillow appeared in a cloud. The pillow came closer and closer, and as it floated toward me, I entered it. The moment I did, I felt a deep, peaceful sensation fill my entire being.
When I woke up, I drew the pillow exactly as I had seen it in the dream. I knew then that I had to follow this vision. It was more than a dream — it was a revelation. The desire and inspiration to design the pillow were planted inside me after that experience in the clouds.
I began extensive research into pillow construction and materials. After developing the Peace Pillow, a construction patent was issued for its unique internal design. The name Peace Pillow® was also officially trademarked.
Before entering retail stores, the Peace Pillow was first marketed in the Detroit community. Several Baptist churches helped introduce the product to their congregations. One, Hartford Memorial Baptist Church, even provided me with a loan to help bring the vision to life. Women in the community borrowed an idea from Tupperware and hosted "Pillow Parties" in their homes to promote and sell the Peace Pillow.
Eventually, the Peace Pillow was introduced into JCPenney stores and was sold nationwide for fifteen years. In its first year, Peace Pillows Inc. was named JCPenney Supplier of the Year, selected over hundreds of other companies.
The Peace Pillow has remained consistent in its high quality, and many customers have reported a healing quality to it. Early on, one customer even called it a "blessed pillow." The journey continues — the dream that became a reality still lives on.
