PEACE PILLOW: THE DREAM THAT BECAME A REALITY
I saw a bright light and thought I had died, but instead, this pillow appeared in a cloud. The pillow came closer and closer, and I went inside it. When I did, I experienced a deeply peaceful feeling. When I woke up, I drew the pillow exactly as I had seen it, and I decided then that I should follow this dream. It felt more like a revelation. The desire and knowledge of how to design the pillow were placed inside of me after I entered the pillow in the cloud.
Next, I did extensive research on pillow construction and content. After the pillow was designed, a patent was issued for the way it was constructed—inside out. A construction patent was granted, and the name "Peace Pillow" was also patented.
Before the Peace Pillow went into retail stores, it was marketed in the Detroit community. Several Baptist churches helped sell pillows to their congregation members, and one, Hartford Memorial, provided me with a loan. Women in the community borrowed an idea from Tupperware parties and held "Pillow Parties."
The Peace Pillow was eventually introduced into JCPenney stores and sold nationwide for fifteen years. In its first year, Peace Pillows, Inc. was named JCPenney's Supplier of the Year, outshining hundreds of other companies. The Peace Pillow has remained consistent with its high quality, and customers have said it has a healing quality. Early on, customers called it a "blessed pillow."
The journey continues, and the dream that became a reality is still alive through word of mouth and advertising on the internet. The Peace Pillow has a patented built-in head and neck support that allows you to sleep correctly. It helps relieve neck pain, back pain, sinus problems, asthma, and snoring by supporting your head and neck, allowing you to enter a deep sleep and wake up refreshed. And it never* flattens.
